By the time this post is live and running, I will already be immersed in the first day of school festivities.
We're back, ladies and gentleman.
I figured I would start the year off with something different. Normally, the students would come into class and get to work right away. But, I'm going to try something that I haven't really attempted in 4 years. It's a little something called a morning meeting.
I want to get the kids pumped and ready to go in the morning. I want them to hear encouraging words and listen to unconventional stories of success.
Hearing stories like Walt Disney can inspire us all. Thinking about how he would get "bad" grades because he would stay up all night drawing or how he went to Hollywood as a broke 22 year old kid with a dream of being an actor/animator moves me.
To know if you put time, effort, and energy in your craft, you can do whatever you want in life.
I want each and every kid to know that they each have a unique talent, and they also have the ability to gain new skills that will help them to achieve their own standard of success.
Well, until next time I will find my own inspiration from stories like Disney's and continue to challenge myself to do things that speak to me. After all, if I can dream it, I can do it.
