240. Emancipate Yourself From Mental Slavery

It's amazing what happens when we unlock our minds. When we free it front the chains that hold it captive. When we begin to see ourselves achieving in life, doing unbelievable things, traveling the world, living freely, I believe we are in the beginning stages of transformation.

This is why I live by the scripture in Romans that tells us to "Be transformed by the renewing of the mind."

Every day, we need to wake up with the intention to set our minds on things above and not beneath us, to not let our circumstances to run us into the ground, and to attract positive energy from the universe.

I honestly believe there are so many people who do not have victory in life because their minds are caged. I've seen it too many times, and to be truthful I've been there. I noticed a pattern in my life. When I was sulking, complaining, always down on my luck, wondering why, and feeling sorry for myself, I was going absolutely nowhere.

The "woe is me" mentality doesn't produce anything except aches -- headaches, heartaches, and body aches. The more stressed we are the more we suppress our immune system and those negative thoughts begin to manifest into body ailments.

But, the moment I decided to break the chains off of my mind and saw life as an opportunity and not a burden, I started to feel differently. Joyful. Motivated. Inspired.

In Bob Marley's Redemption Song, he sings: "Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds."

Let's take that hint. Complaining about life being unfair, sulking, pitying yourself, or whatever else does nothing but cause you mental and physical stress. Whether you believe you can do something or can't, you're right either way you slice it. It's all about what you decide to put inside of your mind.

If you want to elevate in this world, you first must train your mind to see you ascending into the stratosphere.
