This is unsettling. Unnerving. Shocking.
After I wrote a post titled, Cherish the Day, which talked about cherishing each moment you have on earth, tragedy struck close to home.
I had a whole different blog post ready to go. I was about to talk about something uplifting, about following your dreams and listening to the signs around you, but it's hard for me to focus. To be honest, one message woke me up out of my sleep.
Sometimes I think we get so caught up in trying to reach our goals in life that we forget that the people we come into contact with are human. Sometimes we forget that very real situations are happening everyday, situations we might not even know.
Sometimes we forget that the motivator needs motivating, inspirational people needs inspiration, that comforters need comforting, too. We also forget that sometimes the very people who need the most support are those in our own backyard.
My heart, prayers, and thoughts go out to my family in mourning, my family friends who I grew up with, and to all those affected by the tragedy of an untimely passing.
Moments like these put life into perspective and we realize what's really important -- family, friends, love, support.
