74. The Power of Our Words

Whatever you do, don't get discouraged. Don't be dismayed by your circumstances. Our temporary challenges are merely tests, and there aren't testimonies and triumphs without them. However, challenges happen. They make us upset or cause some of us to panic or feel down. But, here's one thing to always remember:

Please be careful what you say to yourself.

I've heard it all the time from several people that we must be cognizant of the words we utter into the universe. Our words have a way of infecting our minds. Once the words we've decided are in our conscience, it can determine whether or not we have victory. You can either look at an issue with optimism or we can wallow in despair, to tumble into the abyss of a well that becomes increasingly difficult to climb out of.

And no, you can't control what others say about you, but you can control what YOU say about you.

I can almost always tell what type of life a person is living based on the words they speak on a consistent basis. If they're mostly speaking their defeat, talking badly about themselves and others, always broke, always complaining about others, always putting the blame off on someone else, always tired, always bored, always in a bad mood, I can almost always tell that the person is not living an abundant life. And I don't know about you but I don't want to be around that kind of negativity.

But, my goodness, if I can meet those who believe in themselves, who speak victory everyday, who --regardless of circumstance, issue, or problem -- will not cease to live, who uplifts other people and celebrate others even while they're going through their own journey, I'm telling you, that's the type of company I want to keep.

Half of the battle of fighting for your dream is overcoming the battlefield of the mind as Joyce Meyer would say.

Which leads me to this scripture:

"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments (imaginations) and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every THOUGHT into captivity to the obedience of Christ."

In a nutshell: We're not merely dealing with physical artillery for battle; we are also dealing with the mental and spiritual warfare that threatens to hold us in captivity, away from life's abundance. That's why it's time to speak life.

It's amazing how things will change because of what you're willing to say and believe about yourself. Until next time: #BeVictorious
