I'm thankful that I had a breakthrough today. For the first time in a very long time I found myself working on my current manuscript, Hot Like Fire. I think the last time I even attempted to look at it was two weeks ago, around the first week or so of the new year. However, after being stuck in the process, I put it to the side to find some inspiration, read a little, and write in other forms -- like this blog.
Although there are parts that will need to be reworked, I'm thankful that I'm on the right track. The plot holes that have been bothering me are finally coming together. I think some times we overthink things so much that taking a step back from whatever it is that's clouding your mind can do wonders in the long run. I needed that little two week break. I was racking my brains trying to figure out the fine details of the story that it just stopped coming out. Today's brainstorming and re-outlining sessions put me back into a groove. And now, I'm just happy to be in a better place, or like that old song by Frankie Beverly and Maze says, "Back in Stride Again."
